Honouring Those Who Serve
Our Philosophy
Board to Badge was created to honour those who dedicate their lives to serving others.
After 25 years with Correctional Service Canada, I have seen firsthand the pride that comes with a career of service, but I have also seen the toll that a lifetime of serving and protecting others can take, regardless of the uniform, the badge or the profession. Some of those sacrifices are visible; many are not.
PTSD and operational stress injuries are very close to me and my family, and helping those who carry these unseen injuries is something we believe in.
That is why Board to Badge is about more than creating handcrafted works of art that preserve the badges, the symbols and the memories of a career of service. It is also about giving back to those who serve.
And that is why 5% of every Board to Badge sale is donated to Canadian charities directly helping those affected by PTSD and operational stress injuries resulting from their service.
As Board to Badge grows, I want the people and organizations we serve to have a voice in that commitment. If there is a deserving Canadian charity doing meaningful work in this area, I would love to hear about it.
Every piece we create represents service, sacrifice, honour and pride. Giving back is simply another way of respecting what those symbols represent.
